I see patients for private consultations at the Duchy Hospital on Tuesday mornings and at other times by special arrangement.
In addition to the consultation and examination, some patients may need diagnostic skin biopsies. These are done after the consultation in a dedicated treatment room under local anaesthetic.
Patients may be offered day case surgery if they require removal of larger lesions including skin cancers. This is also done under local anaesthetic.
For insured patients, I am recognized by all the major insurers and my fees are based on their standard fee schedules.
There is a lot of information on the internet but I think these websites provide the most comprehensive and accurate information for patients:
The British Association of Dermatologists (BAD) website. Another useful resource for patient information. Look at the public information link and click on the patient information leaflet button which lists most skin conditions and common drug treatments.
A New Zealand based website run by Dermatologists with comprehensive information for patients with all types of skin disease (look at the topics A-Z link.)
You can find information on some of the more common skin conditions and treatments by using the following links:
Basal Cell Carcinoma (BCC) BCC patient information
Cryotherapy Cryotherapy patient information
